Colorful: Becoming Who God Made You to Be

I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to let the world chip away at who we are.

Everywhere we look — social media, ads, opinions, expectations — we’re told who to be, how to look, how to act. And if we’re not careful, we start shrinking. We hide the parts of ourselves that feel “too much” or “too different.”

But the truth? God didn’t make us to blend in.
He made us to stand firm.

The More I Show Up, the More I Find My People
Something I’ve noticed lately is this: the more authentic I am, the more authentic people I attract.

When I stop apologizing for being me — sensitive, passionate, sometimes messy but always real — I start crossing paths with others who are the same. Conversations open up that never would’ve happened if I stayed small. And I can feel God aligning those connections on purpose.

It’s confirmation that authenticity is magnetic. Not the kind you manufacture, but the kind that comes from living in truth.

🎶 The Song That Reminded Me
I was listening to Colorful by The Crowd, and the lyrics hit me:

“Don’t be a chameleon, one in a million, so unusual — let your colors show.”

It felt like a wake-up call.
We spend so much of our energy trying not to stand out, but what if that’s exactly what we’re called to do? Not in an ego-driven way, but in a God-created way.

Because hiding our “colors” doesn’t just rob the world of beauty — it robs us of becoming who He designed us to be.

🌱 Standing Firm in Who God Made You
We don’t need to bend to every opinion. We don’t need to copy every trend. We don’t need to shrink just because someone else doesn’t understand us.

The world is loud, but God’s truth is steady:

– “You are fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:14)
– “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14)
– “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)

Your colors are not a mistake.
They are your calling.

💌 Journal Prompt
What parts of myself have I been hiding to fit in?
How can I begin showing up more authentically, even in small ways?

🙏 Prayer
God, thank You for creating me with intention.
Forgive me for the times I’ve shrunk back or tried to blend in.
Help me to stand firm in who You’ve made me to be — not swayed by opinions, not defined by culture, but grounded in You.
Give me the courage to let my colors shine, so that others might see Your light through me.
Amen.

Final Whisper:
You weren’t made to be a copy.
You were made to be colorful.
And the more you live as your true self, the more you’ll find the people who were meant to find you.
